SOUTH PARIS – An eight-run outburst in the bottom of the first inning was all Bessey Motors would need in an 11-3 win over Smith-Tobey in Tuesday Zone III American Legion action.

Chris Roy was stellar on the mound for Bessey Motors (6-4), fanning eight over six innings while Chris Roy, Matt Verrier and Ben Goodall combined for seven hits.

Henry McCorkele led Smith-Tobey (3-8) with a pair of hits.

Gray 18, Andy Valley 0

TURNER – Gray scored 16 runs in the third inning to rout Andy Valley, 18-0, in five innings of Zone III Legion action.

Matt Moberg and Nate Johnson drove in two runs apiece for Gray (6-3). Johnson led off the game with a home run. Josh Sundquist drove in four runs. Joe BIllings pitched five innings of no-hit ball to pick up the win.

Northern Oxford 7, Brunswick 5

RUMFORD – Northern Oxford County got two-run singles in each of the first two innings from Dpencer Berry and Ben French and held off Brunswick, 7-5, in Zone III Legion action.

Spencer Berry had two hits and John Smith pitched six strong innings to pick up the win for Northern Oxford County (6-4). Jacob Simmons led Brunswick with two home runs and four runs driven in.

Monmouth 11, Madison 2

MONMOUTH – Ethan Guerette fell a triple shy of hitting for the cycle, knocking in three runs on three hits, as Monmouth cruised past Madison 11-2, in Zone II American Legion action Tuesday.

Denbow struck out six through six innings and has not allowed an earned run this season as Monmouth improved to 8-0.

Ezra Gouley suffered the loss for Madison (7-3).
