AUBURN – Three men and a woman were indicted on robbery charges this week in connection with the holdup of a McDonald’s restaurant.

Police say masked robbers wielded baseball bats at the restaurant on Center Street as an accomplice left a bomb-scare message at a local hotel.

An Androscoggin County grand jury handed up indictments on Kristofer W. Dahlquist, 24, address unknown; Daniel Duhamel, 24, of Mechanic Falls; Andrew R. Gage, 19, of Lewiston; and Amy L. Folsom, 21, of Lewiston.

Police said Dahlquist and Duhamel entered the restaurant shortly before 2:30 a.m. June 23, masked and armed with baseball bats. They forced workers into a backroom and made the manager open a safe. They took cash and fled, police said.

A surveillance tape showed Gage, a McDonald’s worker, letting Dahlquist and Duhamel into the restaurant, police said.

Gage was arrested less than a week after the robbery, followed by Duhamel, who went to his attorney’s office before agreeing to surrender to law-enforcement officials. Both remained in jail following their indictments this week. Bail was set for $15,000 following their arrests, then reduced to $5,000 apiece. Dahlquist remained at large. A summons was issued for Folsom.

Each is charged with class A robbery, a felony punishable by up to 30 years in prison.

Folsom, Gage’s sister and Duhamel’s girlfriend, played a role in the robbery by calling in a bomb threat at a local hotel in an effort to divert police attention, said Detective Jason Moore. Folsom reached an automated attendant and left a message, he said.
