NEW VINEYARD – A North Anson man was flown to Central Maine Medical Center after a motorcycle accident Friday on Route 234 in New Vineyard.

Guy Constable, 41, was traveling west on a 1982 Yamaha at 12:30 p.m. on the North Anson Road, Route 234, when he crossed the centerline on a curve and struck the front left side of a 1997 Mercury Tracer driven by Linda Bundock, 41, of Strong.

Constable sustained fairly serious injuries, including multiple fractures to his legs and hands, Sgt. Steven Lowell of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.

A nursing supervisor at CMMC would not confirm or deny Constable’s presence at the hospital when asked for an update on his condition later Friday afternoon.

Bundock’s car traveled into a ditch. Her three daughters were with her, and one was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital with discomfort caused by a seat belt, Lowell said. Names of the daughters were not available, he said.

NorthStar Ambulance sent two vehicles, and New Vineyard Fire Department helped with traffic control. Lowell was assisted at the scene by Trooper Aaron Turcotte of the Maine State Police.

Several bystanders and other drivers stopped to help at the scene but were driven away when a heavy downpour with large, pea-sized hail covered the scene.
