Brunswick – Bernice H. LeBourdais, 91, of Merrill Hill Road, Greene, and Cundys Harbor, died Saturday, July 7, at Parkview Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Cundys Harbor, Feb. 28, 1916, a daughter to the late Edward and Margaret (Unsworth) Small. She was a graduate of Edward Little High School class of 1934.

She married the love of her life, Robert A. LeBourdais, Oct. 7, 1938, and together they raised their two children. She worked in her early years, but after her children she was able to stay at home with them. However, later in life she worked for Wallingford’s, now West Breeze Orchards. She was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, United Commercial Travelers and Patrons of St. Mary’s. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, going out to eat, shopping, spending time with her grandchildren and spending time at her home where she grew up at Cundys Harbor. She still slept in the room at the harbor that she was born in.

She leaves her husband of 68 years, Robert, of Auburn; a daughter, Margaret (Marnie) Gardner and her husband, Paul; a son, Robert (Hap) LeBourdais and his wife, Deborah, all of Greene; four grandchildren, Paul Gardner, Betsy Hutchins, Jason and Chad LeBourdais; seven great-grandchildren, Emily Gardner, Ben Hutchins, Kegan LeBourdais, Andrew Hutchins, Tyler Griffin, Tony and Angela Gelianas; a goddaughter, Bunny Wabuda; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Forcier.
