LEWISTON – Julienne B. Touchette, 98, of Lewiston, passed away on July 9, at d’Youville Pavilion, with her family by her side.

She was born at Lac Drolet, P.Q., Canada, Sept. 38, 1908, the daughter of Josephat and Alvine Dallaire Bisson. She moved to the local area at a young age and on Oct. 6, 1937, she was married to Hilaire Touchette.

A member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, she belonged to Les Dames de Ste. Anne, Marchand de Bonheur, Cercle St. Sacrement, was the president of La Survivance Francaise for seven years, and was once honored as the mother of the year.

For many years, she and her husband Hilaire were co-owners of the Beachwood Hotel in Old Orchard Beach. She also owned and operated Julienne’s Beauty Shop for many years, and enjoyed playing cards, crochet, knitting and word search puzzles.

Survivors include a loving daughter, Lise, and husband, Rosaire Tardif, of Englewood, Fa.; a devoted daughter in-law, Monique, and husband, Robert Couturier, of Lewiston; two brothers, Lucien, and wife, Rita Bisson, of Phelan, Calif., and Roger, and wife, Marie-Jeanne Bisson, of Old Orchard Beach; a sister, Madeleine Moreau of Lewiston, who was her caregiver for many years; grandsons, Gerald, and wife, Kristy Touchette and Denis Touchette; great-granddaughter, Aviemore Touchette; and numerous nieces and nephews who cared for her deeply.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Hiliare; a son, Gerald; a sister Alice Cloutier; and a brother, Joseph Bisson.
