On July 4, I drove to Gracelawn Cemetery in Auburn and was shocked that the flags for the veterans were not flying; not even the American flag. Of all days! On Independence Day, think how our veterans must feel to see just the empty poles?

I tried for 10 years to get something there to let people know that there was a section for veterans.

I felt so bad, as my late husband, a World War II veteran, is laid to rest there.
