NORWAY – Timothy A. Churchill, president and CEO of Stephens Memorial Hospital, announces that the Mammography Center at SMH has earned a perfect score during the recent mammography inspection conducted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The inspection resulted in a rating of full compliance with no deficiencies.

The inspection compared specific items in six major areas to the required standards, and all areas reviewed were found to be in compliance without exception.

SMH and Western Maine Radiology, in partnership with local physicians, offer free mammograms to women who have no health insurance or who are underinsured. Coupons can be obtained from local physician offices.

Additionally, the Mammography Center offers a monthly class to help cancer patients with beautification tips while undergoing chemotherapy or other cancer treatments. For more information on the Mammography Center and its services, call 743-1562, extension 104.
