Bridge play

NORWAY – The Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met July 13 in the Fare Share Common, Main Street. A six-table Howell movement was played.

Finishing first in Flight A were Luke Merry and Mike Quinn; second in Flight A and first in Flight B and C, Donna and Ozzie Swett; third, Eleanor Griffin and Woody Mercier. Second in Flight B were Martha Young and Dick Allen; second in Flight C, Bev Dolan and Bev Pelletier.

There will be another game Friday, July 20. All bridge players are welcome. A partner is guaranteed; parking is in the rear in the municipal lot. For information, call Les Buzzell at 754-9153 or Pat Quinn at 539-8991.

Women meeting

PARIS – Christian Women United will meet today at the First Congregational Church. Luncheon will be served at 11:30 a.m. Roy Earle of Norway will discuss humorous incidents that have happened in his lifetime. For more information, contact Pearl Anderson at 743-5724.

Floral workshop

PARIS – The Oxford County University of Maine Cooperative Extension is offering a free workshop on cut flowers from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, at the Extension office. Topics will include plant choice, watering and fertilizing, planning for continuous bloom and harvest and post harvest techniques.
