AUBURN- Elliot Little League defeated Gardiner 4-2 in semifinal action in the District 5 Major Division playoffs Monday. Brian Wigant hurled a complete game 4-hitter, walking only 1 and striking out 5. Repeat hitters were Luke Cote, Jordan Charest and Eric Soucy. Other hitters were Ryan Laverdiere, Jake Bergeron, Sam Morin, Wigant and Matt Bouchard. Bryant Whitley, Jensen Orewiler and Nick Clements had hits for Gardiner.
The two teams were set to meet Tuesday at Auburn Suburban for the championship.
