LEWISTON – As trade show attendees made their rounds at the annual Business-to-Business Trade Show on June 14, they found themselves laughing as community leaders were showered with confetti. Community Credit Union was holding a fundraiser at its booth to raise money for LA Arts.

“We wanted to attract attention to our booth. What better way to do it then by getting attendees involved and help raise money for a very worthy organization. After all, ‘Community’ is what we are about,” said Kerry Wood, executive vice president of Community Credit Union.

Thanks to LA Arts supporters, trade show attendees and those looking to have a little fun with certain community leaders, the event raised $315. The credit union donated $185 to bring the total donation to $500.

Community leaders who supported the fundraiser by being showered with confetti included Lewiston Mayor Larry Gilbert, Dan Smiley of Turner Publishing, Laurie Steele of Twin City Times, Andy Marsh of Uncle Andy’s Digest, Travis Dow of Uncle Andy’s Digest, Mark Carrier of Ouellette and Associates, Diane Moreau of Lost Valley Ski Area, Natalie Raye of New England Mortgage, Andrew Harris of LA Arts and Donna Steckino of Community Credit Union.

LA Arts is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to integrate the arts into the fabric of life in the community.
