LEWISTON – Richard P. Record, 85, died unexpectedly July 12, after a brief illness in Lewiston.

He was the son of Alonzo and Alice Record, and was born in Lewiston in 1922. He graduated from Edward Little High School, having been a student within the Auburn school system; and soon after high school, entered the U.S. Air Force. He was a 20-year veteran, serving in both World War II and the Korean Conflict.

His career led him and his family all over the United States and Europe.

He was an enthusiastic life-long fan of the Boston Red Sox; but above all he was devoted to his adoring daughter Darcy, who will forever remember his devotion to her as a young child, taking her to the beaches of the west coast of Florida, or the swimming pools at McDill Air Force base.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Darcy Landry of Cape Elizabeth from his marriage to the former Barbara Conners; Darcy’s son, Jason of Oakland, Calif.; daughter, Katherine of Wakefield, Mass.; and four stepchildren, Judy Callahan, Sandra Main and Butch and James LaFlamme.

He was predeceased by his brother, Robert; two sisters, Arline Hall and Janice Kern; and his second wife, Ellsie.
