OXFORD – His Place Teen Center will hold yard sales from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 9 to 14 and Labor Day weekend, Aug. 30 to Sept. 4, on Route 26 next to the fish market.

The center is collecting salable items for the sales and for the new Alpha and Omega Thrift Shop open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Alpha and Omega will be open during the yard sales also.

The center is looking for appliances, furniture, couches, clothes, shoes and books.

A list of items accepted is on the new Web site, www.hisplaceteencenter.com. Call Bert Rugg at 743-9503 or cell 515-3000 or Sam Marucca at 583-2999 or cell 890-2056 for more information.

There is a demand for bureaus, dressers and furniture. Because of new rules at the dump, some items have to be approved before being accepted, such as computers, printers, microwaves, console TVs and wooden cabinet units. Anyone who has items that may fall in this category should call in advance.

His Place Teen Center is for youth ages 11 to 18 boys from 6 to 9 p.m. Fridays. Volunteers are needed to help with the yard sales and thrift shop.
