LEWISTON – Jean S. Goodwin of Canton, widow of Basil N. Goodwin, passed on Saturday, July 28, at C.M.M.C., Lewiston, with her loving family at her side.

One of 12 children, she was born in Weld, to Carroll and Charlotte (Bartlett) Libby on Sept. 19, 1926. She married Basil N. Goodwin in 1961. Together they shared a home in the Rumford area until 1988. She later moved to Canton and the surrounding areas over the years.

She worked at Diamond National in Dixfield for many years, and also worked many years at Foster’s Mfg. in Wilton, where she retired.

Her son, Stan, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all nieces and nephews were the love of her life. She enjoyed collecting and sharing old and good tea sets and glassware. Her later hobby was watching golf on television.

She leaves behind a son, Stanley E. Stinchfield and his wife, Joyce, of Wilton; three granddaughters, Shelley A. Jackson and husband, James, of Stratton, Vicki M. Stinchfield and her companion, Gene Chapman, of Jacksonville, N.C., and Susan J. LeGrand and husband, William, of Jacksonville, N.C.; five great-grandchildren, Jordyn L. Jackson, Samantha K. Jackson, Kian T. LeGrand, Kayla S. LeGrand and Kyla J. LeGrand; two sisters, Eleanor Fish and husband, Harry, of Weld, and Gloria Jones and husband, H. “Okie,” of Canton; one brother, Lester Libby and wife, Jeanie, of Rumford; and several nieces and nephews for whom she considered herself to be a second mom.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Basil; brothers, James Libby and Carroll Libby Jr.; and sisters, Katherine Hathaway, Patricia Libby, Corrine McKinney, Julia Smith, Barbara Boppel and C. Dawn Pratt.
