HIRAM – Members of the Oxford County Sheriff’s Department and Maine Warden Service were unsuccessful Monday in finding a Hiram man reported missing by his brother last Friday.

Richard Trent Lewis, 28, of 22 Mountain View Ave., was last seen by his brother Travis Lewis about 5:30 p.m. Friday, Chief Deputy Dane Tripp said Monday night. Richard was on a Honda dirt bike riding from his brother Kevin Lewis’ house in Standish when he met up with his brother Travis on the trail and told him he was going to have a beer, take a swim in Horne Pond in Limington and return to his apartment in Hiram before dark. He never did.

Tripp said Travis also told police that Richard had planned to go to his mother’s house in the area, to pick up his children for the weekend and feed his roommate’s dogs, all of which never happened.

A search Monday of trails in Hiram, Standish and Limington as well as rivers and ponds in the area found no signs of Richard, Tripp said.

Richard is described as 5 feet, 5 inches tall, 150 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at 1-800-733-1421.
