Grange supper
ROME – An all-you-can-eat public spaghetti supper will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Mt. Philip Grange Hall. Races rescheduled
WILTON – Severe thunderstorms caused postponement of the annual Wilton Blueberry Festival 10K and kids’ one-mile races on Friday night. They have been moved to Friday, Aug. 17, at the same time. New pastor
WELD – The Weld Congregational Church has announced that it has hired Robert Edgarton as its new pastor for six months. A reception will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, following church to officially welcome him. It is open to the community as well as all members.
Society sale
MADRID – The Madrid Historical Society will sponsor a yard and craft sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at the Old Schoolhouse Community Room, Reeds Mill Road, off Route 4.

Elks tourney
FARMINGTON – Farmington Elks Lodge 2430 will sponsor the Elks National Foundation 11th annual Charity Golf Tournament on Sunday, Sept. 23, at Wilson Lake Golf Course in Wilton.
Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the shotgun start will be at 8:30 a.m. The four-man best ball scramble entry fee is $200 a team. It includes the cart, banquet and awards. The banquet and presentations will be held at the Farmington Elks Lodge.

Scholarship ride
FARMINGTON – Farmington Elks Lodge will sponsor the Tim Maillet Scholarship Ride, the fifth annual poker run, on Saturday, Sept. 15.
Prizes will be $500 for the best hand, $300 for the second best hand, $100 for the worst hand and $100 for the closest mileage guess. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. and the cost is $20.
There will be T-shirts, prizes, a meal and entertainment. This event is open to all vehicles. For more information, call Jon at 778-1959.
