Newfoundland roots/folk quintet Great Big Sea will perform Saturday, Aug. 11, at the L.L. Bean Concert Series in Discovery Park in Freeport. Great Big Sea released a CD/DVD, “Courage & Patience & Grit,” in November 2006 on Rounder. The DVD and accompanying CD showcase such traditional favorites such as “Captain Kidd” and “The Night Pat Murphy Died,” as well as more pop-oriented originals like “Sea of No Cares.” The free concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Listeners are urged to bring lawn chairs.
