LOVELL – Spotlights are heating up over the stage at the Lovell Brick Church for the Performing Arts. The Children’s Backyard Theater Group is rehearsing for its presentation of “Hocus Pocus,” a Halloween classic about three witches brought back to life from the Salem witch trials of the 1690s.

The sisters are not used to the inventions and other changes that have taken place over the last 300 years – making for some funny moments.

The cast includes Sarah Flaherty, Emma Flaherty, Whitney Arnold, Steven Flaherty, Morgan Grover, Madison Burke, Jessica Morris, Meredith Smith, Austin Smith, Aubrey Wissmann, Adriana Wissmann and Ashley Wissmann.

The play is directed by Jake Dunham. This is the fourth presentation of The Children’s Backyard Theater Group.

“Hocus Pocus” will be performed at 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 18-19. There is no charge for admission, but donations will be gratefully accepted. For more information, call 925-2792.
