HEBRON – The Additon family held its 77th reunion Aug. 12 at the Hebron Pines Campground. Those attending are descendants of Thomas and Anna (Beals) Additon, who married in Leeds in 1821.
The oldest person present was Harold Meade, 94, of Bridgton. The youngest was Olivia Moreno, 22 months, daughter of Kim Foster and Gil Moreno of Portland.
Marcia Troyer of Boulder, Colo., came from the farthest distance. Other states represented were Ohio, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
Family members reported six marriages and six births. Resolutions were adopted in memory of Noreen Additon Hanscom of Cape Elizabeth, Marlene Additon of Leeds, Elizabeth Additon of Auburn and Thomas O. Peasley of Clearwater, Fla.
Connie Foster of Litchfield presided at the business meeting, with 50 in attendance. Officers elected for 2008 are: Lorri A. Pelletier of Greene, president; Barry Mower of Greene, vice president; Douglas Hodgkin of Lewiston, secretary; and Donald Smith of Wellesley, Mass., treasurer.
Members of the Finance Committee are Elise Hodgkin of Yarmouth; Sybil Smith of Wellesley, Mass.; and Mary Hodgkin of Cape Elizabeth. The Resolutions Committee for 2008 is Jill Freda of Leeds and Valerie Trantanella of Westford, Mass.
After the potluck dinner and the business meeting, Errol Additon of Leeds conducted an auction of craft and food items made by family members. Wilma Bradford of Bangor won the raffle for a homemade quilt.
