PARIS – A convicted sex offender and drug supplier from Waterford is scheduled to appear in court next month to answer a charge of sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl in June.

Gregory Kenneth Turner, 44, of 1098 Waterford Road was arrested Aug. 9 after the girl told her father that Turner had kissed her genital area, according to Lt. Hart Daley of the Oxford County Sheriff’s Department.

He was released from the Oxford County Jail on Aug. 15 after posting $50,000 bail, according to officials. He is scheduled to appear in Oxford County Superior Court in Paris on Sept. 6 to answer the charge and to have a probation violation hearing, according to jail records.

The incident occurred June 26 in Waterford and was reported to the state Department of Health and Human Services on June 27 by the father, according to Daley’s report.

Daley said the girl’s father said his daughter told him Turner kissed her on her genitals.

The girl said Turner also made her watch a movie that “had girls in it with no clothes on who were dancing around.”

And in an interview with a school worker, the girl said Turner had kissed her “on her private area,” Daley wrote.

Turner is on probation after serving nine months of a three-year prison sentence for offering crack cocaine and marijuana to a baby sitter he hired to watch his daughter in August 2003, and for being a felon with a firearm. According to an affidavit, Turner repeatedly hugged the baby sitter, told her how beautiful she had become, and asked for a kiss. In a statement, the baby sitter said Turner “made a few inappropriate comments concerning my physical appearance.”

In 1986, Turner was found guilty in Oxford County Superior Court of gross sexual misconduct against a woman in Paris and received a three-year suspended prison sentence and two years of probation.

In 2005, he was required to register as a lifetime sex offender.
