PARIS – Two veteran golfers at Paris Hill Country Club shot a hole-in-one this week.

Russ Perham holed out his shot by floating a high 8-iron onto the green on #8. the ball took a bounce and rolled into the cup. Witnesses were Roger Akers and Cid Tessicini. It was his second ace this year.

Bobbi Bickford fired a hole-in-one on the #6 hole. She flew an 8-iron onto the green, and with a little roll the ball went into the cup. It was her fourth ace and all have been on #6. Carol Whitman witnessed the feat.

Tourney is planned

NEWRY – The 4th annual NewPage/Black Mountain of Maine Golf Tournament is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 18 at Sunday River Golf Club.

It’ll be an 18-hole, 4-ball scramble with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Entry fee is $135 per golfer, or $540 per team. Deadline for registration is Sept. 14.
