Brunswick at Lewiston, 7 p.m.

Whatever the over-under on Lewiston passes is, take the over.

Lawrence at Mt. Blue, 7 p.m.

Hopefully they have enough stretchers to carry out all the fainters when the Cougar Gun morphs into the double-wing.

Oxford Hills at Edward Little, 7 p.m.

The Vikings’ depth is a concern. The Red Eddies’ depth is a strength. Could be a close game made to look more comfortable than it really was with one of those 20-6 fourth quarters.

Gray-New Gloucester at Mountain Valley, 7 p.m.

Some teams will pay for overlooking the Patriots this year. The Falcons will not be one of them.

Maranacook at Leavitt, 7 p.m.

Would be hard to top last year’s 2-0 Leavitt win for sheer weirdness.

Oak Hill at Gardiner, 7:30 p.m.

Raiders haven’t settled on a quarterback. The Tigers merely have the best in the conference in Kyle Stilphen.

Poland at Greely, 7 p.m.

After Cape Elizabeth and Mountain Valley, there are a lot of young teams vying for the next two playoff spots in the Campbell Conference. This is a game each of these teams needs to win if they want to be playing for something late in the season.

Boothbay at Livermore Falls, 7 p.m.

These two schools should be playing on some rainy, muddy Octobor Friday night, not late August.

Saturday’s games

Falmouth at Fryeburg, 1:30 p.m.

It’s been a long time since there’s been this much optimism going into a season in Fryeburg. Will it last past the Fair?

Jay at Yarmouth, 1:30 p.m.

Tough welcome to the Campbell Conference for the Clippers.

Lisbon at Dirigo, 1:30 p.m.

There won’t be a more physical game played in the state Saturday than this one.

Winthrop at Traip, 1:30 p.m.

Has Traip turned the corner and become a legitimate threat on Fridays and Saturdays?
