The hopes of American men’s tennis rest with Andy Roddick. If you’re worried about the hopes of American men’s tennis, this is not a good thing.

MLB: Phillies at Braves

Julio Franco is back in the bigs with the Braves, which means he’s going back to his good set of false teeth.

College football: Penn State at Notre Dame, 1986

2 p.m., ESPN Classic

Lou Holtz’s speech impediment was only mildly annoying at this point.

MLB: Blue Jays at Red Sox

7 p.m., NESN

Josh Beckett’s “One better than Schilling” line after Clay Buchholz’s no-hitter made me spit out my soda.

MLB: Dodgers at Cubs

8 p.m., ESPN

Carlos Zambrano has a 9.56 ERA in three starts since the Cubs gave him a $91.5 million, five-year contract extension.

WNBA: Mercury at Shock, Finals Game 1

8 p.m., ESPN2

Why not make the WNBA fans wait until 9 p.m. for their playoff games like the rest of us?

NASCAR in Primetime

10 p.m., Channel 8
