SKOWHEGAN – Amanda Deschenes kept the relentess attack at bay by stopping all 19 shots to lead Mt. Blue to a stunning 1-0 victory over field-hockey power Skowhegan on Thursday.

The Indians (1-1) have won six consecutive Class A championships. Skowhegan outshot the Cougars 19-10 and kept the pressure on the Mt. Blue goal with 11 penalty corners, compared to two by the Cougars (2-1).

Marissa Allen scored the game’s only goal at 9:56 of the first half.
