DIXFIELD – Wardsworth and Jeanette McLeod of Dixfield recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a gathering in Jay. The party hosts were children of the couple, Gayle, Steve, Bruce and Jeff.

Decorations were in white with gold accents, with balloons, candles and candy-filled boxes. The flowers were pink Calla lilies, yellow tiger lilies and hosta.

Toastmaster was Bruce McLeod. A lobster feed was held, after which several family members played the guitar for entertainment. A card was sent from the White House and signed by President George and Laura Bush.

Mr. McLeod and the former Jeanette Fish were married July 30, 1957, at the home of Rev. Mills in Dixfield.

Their children are Stephen and Evelyn McLeod of Biddeford, Gayle Therrien of North Jay, Bruce McLeod and friend, Rhonda Walters, of Carthage and Jeffrey and Wanda McLeod of Dixfield.

Their grandchildren are Jeremy and Becky McLeod of Hartford, Keith McLeod and friend, Stacy, of East Jay, Amanda, Michael and Trevor McLeod of Carthage, Amy McLeod and friend, Brandon Perry, of Williamstown, Mass., and Brad, Lisa and Luke McLeod of Dixfield.

Mrs. McLeod worked for about 10 years at G.H. Bass. Mr. McLeod is retired from Boise Cascade.

Mrs. McLeod’s mother, Althea Fish of Dixfield, attended the event.
