Bag sale

HARTFORD – The Hartford Community Church clothing center will hold a bag sale from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15. The clothing center is located on Church Street.

Benefit supper

PARIS – A benefit potluck supper will be held for John Geyer and family at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at the VFW Hall. Geyer was involved in an automobile accident six weeks ago and still remains in the hospital. There will be door prizes and raffles. Cost is $6 a person, $10 a couple, $20 for families, $3 children ages 6 and older, and children 5 and under, free.

Seniors activities

OXFORD – Seniors card day activities will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. beginning Monday, Sept. 17, at the Station House Recreation Center. For more information, contact Eddie or Connie Lyons at 539-4345.

Women’s lunch

PARIS – The Christian Women United will meet Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the First Congregational Church. Luncheon will be served at 11:30 a.m. Speaker for the day will be Ginger Mae Dyer of Corinna. Those who have not been contacted and would like a reservation may call Pearl Anderson at 743-5724.

Society supper

WEST PARIS – The West Paris Historical Society will meet on Monday, Sept. 17. There will be a potluck supper at 6 p.m. with a meeting to follow and a chance of entertainment. Members have finished the painting and wallpapering, and the curtains are being worked on. All are welcome.

Engstrom to speak

LOCKE MILLS – Marty Engstrom will present a program on his 38 years on top of Mt. Washington at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at the Locke Mills Town Hall. Admission is a donation and refreshments will follow. Proceeds will benefit the Greenwood Historical Society.

Bridge play

NORWAY – The Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met on Sept. 7 in the Fare Share Co-op with six tables. Coming in first in A and B were Donna and Ozzie Swett; second in A, Rosemarie Goodwin and Lucille Theriault; third, Woody Mercier and Mike Quinn; fourth, Della Starbird and Eileen Potvin. Coming in second in B were Carol Curran and Suzanne Andrews.
