AUGUSTA (AP) – Maine State Police arrested a 32-year-old Corinth man and charged him with manslaughter Wednesday in the death of his fiancee’s brother.

Nikki Thibodeau was arrested at his home and taken to Waldo County Jail. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance later this week.

The charge stems from the death of Benjamin Preston, 26, who was struck and killed in the driveway of his Winterport home on Sept. 2 by a pickup truck driven by Thibodeau.

The charge was brought after police consulted with prosecutors from the Attorney General’s office, said Public Safety Department spokesman Steve McCausland.
