MEXICO – The Mexico Public Library’s Book Café discussion group hosted an evening with Billie Gammon on Sept. 5. Gammon began the Norlands Living History Center in Livermore and has worked for many years in running and promoting the center’s programs.

The evening’s focus was a book titled, “No Flies on Bill,” written by Darcy Wakefield, Gammon’s granddaughter. Gammon’s life is the subject of the book.

She regaled the large group of people in attendance with humorous and interesting anecdotes from the book. She also shared an excerpt from a book that she is currently writing. This will be a companion book to “No Flies on Bill.”

A question-and-answer time followed, and refreshments were served after the program. For more information on the Book Café group or other programs, call the library at 364-3281 or check out www.mexico.lib.me.us.
