LEWISTON – Robert A. Laskoff, senior partner in the Lewiston law firm of Laskoff & Associates, has announced that two attorneys have joined the firm.

S. Courtney Michalec has become an associate. Michalec graduated from the College of William and Mary with a bachelor of arts degree in history and is a 2006 cum laude graduate of the University of Maine School of Law. While attending law school, Michalec served as a legal writing instructor, was a member of the Trial Team and co-chair of the Class of 2006 Moot Court Board. Upon her graduation, she received the Gignoux Award for Appellate Advocacy and the Faculty Award for Trial Advocacy. She will be concentrating in the areas of civil litigation, personal injury law, family law, administrative law and criminal defense.

C. Martin Berman, formerly with Berman & Simmons of Lewiston and Portland, has become of counsel to Laskoff & Associates. Berman has been practicing law in Maine for 53 years, first with his father, Benjamin Berman, and his uncle David Berman with the firm known as Berman, Berman & Berman, which then became Berman & Simmons.
