Seniors to meet

DIXFIELD – Neighborly Senior Citizens will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the Legion Hall. The meeting will start at 11 a.m. followed by a potluck dinner. The Fryeburg Fair list will be available at the meeting.

The trip to October Fest at Indian Head on Oct. 25 has been canceled. There are still a few seats left for the Oct. 19 Gaither concert. Anyone wanting to reach Connie is asked to call 364-2403 and leave a message.

Society meeting

RUMFORD – The Rumford Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, in the Municipal Building auditorium. Dru Breton, archivist, and Myrtle McKenna will show members the changes to the archives and storage area due to renovation at the hall.

They will also show some of the items that Rose McKenna has donated to the archives from her husband’s historical collection. Peter was an early president of the society and active in encouraging young people to look at their own roots and at the histories of people around them.
