Lessons canceled
RUMFORD – Line dancing has been canceled today and Oct. 2. Lessons will continue from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the Methodist Church basement hall, Linnell Street. All ages and beginners are welcome. For more information, call Gloria at 364-4883 after Oct. 3.
Kids’ storytime
RUMFORD – Rumford Library’s first storytime of the year will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26. Area youngsters ages 2 to 5 are invited to attend the preschool storytimes. Children will have stories, songs and fingerplays, and make crafts when appropriate to the storytime theme.
There will be no storytimes during school vacations or school cancellations.
Networking
RUMFORD – A community networking meeting, sponsored by the River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition, is scheduled for noon Wednesday, Sept. 26, at the Rumford Public Library. People should bring their own lunch.
The speaker will be a representative from the Western Maine Holistic Health Council, who will speak about the group’s programs and activities. For more information, contact Patty Duguay at 364-7408.
Driving course
MEXICO – A Maine Driving Dynamics course is scheduled for Region 9 School of Applied Technology from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, and Tuesday, Oct. 2.
Instructor Eddy Naples said those completing the course will receive a three point credit on their driving record, and insurance discounts are also possible. Register by calling 369-9058 or 364-3764.
Region 9 School of Applied Technology and the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety will sponsor the course, which is open to the public.
Cemetery notice
RUMFORD – Farrington Morton Cemetery Association requests all arrangements, plant containers or decorations be removed from the cemetery by Monday, Oct. 1, or they will be discarded.
Club to meet
ROXBURY – The Slippery Sliders Snowmobile Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the home of Sylvia and Raymond Touchette.
Club raffle
MEXICO – The Mexico Trail Blazers will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, downstairs at the Mexico Town Hall. The Trail Blazers are holding a membership drive/raffle. Anyone joining before Dec. 5 will have a chance to win $200 at that meeting.
