I agree with Bert Dutil’s letter about the dedication of the “Remember the Maine” memorial (Sept. 16). There were so many important dignitaries there. I was very proud that my children had my deceased son’s and my name inscribed on the memorial.
I was in the picture taken at the dedication. I had no idea anyone other than my daughter and wife were listening to me, or that someone was taking my picture. It was a complete surprise to see my picture in the paper with that caption about “where the dogs pee.”
It could have been left out.
