PORTLAND – Members of the 399th Combat Support Hospital in Auburn are scheduled to arrive at 8 a.m. Monday at the Portland International Jetport, according to Lt. Col. Michael Backus with the Maine Army National Guard.

The 42 Army Reserve soldiers are returning home after spending a year in Iraq treating wounded soldiers in combat hospitals. Their unit is made up of doctors, nurses, medical technicians and support staff. They’re expected to be greeted by family and friends.

The ceremony is open to the public and will take place in the northeast hangar outside the terminal. The hangar will open at 7 a.m. There will be light refreshments available and music while family and friends wait for the soldiers.
