CHICAGO – The wedding of Catherine Littlefield Monahan and Robert Charles Lagueux was held at 5:30 p.m., July 13, at Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool in Lincoln Park, Chicago. The Rev. Dr. Dean Pittelko officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Lagueux is the daughter of Michael Monahan of Wakefield, R.I., and Robyne Fletcher of Block Island, R.I. Mr. Lagueux is the son of Raymond and Susan Lagueux of Lewiston.

The bride, given in marriage by her brother, Seth Monahan, wore a strapless bone-colored silk taffeta gown and carried a bouquet of white orchids and roses.

Standing up with his sister was Seth Monahan. Flower bearer was Gregory Kania, nephew of the bridegroom. Standing up with the bridegroom was Angelique Kania, sister of the bridegroom. Ring bearer was Nicholas Kania, nephew of the bridegroom.

A reception followed at the Great Hall of Cafe Brauer in Chicago, after which the couple traveled to Bayfield, Wis., and Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. They are residing in Chicago.

The bride received a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from the University of Rhode Island and a master’s degree in communication studies from the University of Iowa.

The bridegroom received a bachelor’s degree in music and history from Harvard University and a doctorate in music history from Yale University. He is a faculty member and director of the first-year seminar program at Columbia College in Chicago.
