I’d like to share my opinion about having contraceptives available to 11-year-old students. What was the Portland School Committee thinking? That area is for parents to deal with, not teachers or counselors.

Why would anyone want to promote sex for 11-year-olds? Doesn’t Maine have laws making it a crime to have sex with girls under a certain age? Is the school board promoting breaking the law? If so, are they willing to go to jail as an accessory when someone gets caught having sex with a little 11-year-old girl?

What happens if that child gets pregnant? Is the school going to open an abortion clinic?

Where will it stop?

It shouldn’t have begun in the first place.
