The 2007 Pet Expo is coming to town. The Tri-County Obedience Club will host its third annual Pet Expo from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Nichols Expo Center in Wilton. More than 70 exhibitors and vendors are expected to attend, including rescue groups, pet treat bakers and pet accessory designers. Although the expo will lean toward dogs and dog owners, some vendors will also specialize in cats, horses and other animals.

“We hope the expo will help all people learn more about being a responsible pet owner,” said Donna Whitney, who helped organize the event.

At noon, the expo will offer a pet parade and a pet costume contest, complete with prizes for the cutest, silliest and most creative costumes. Fido’s not interested in dressing like a devil dog? The expo will also feature demonstrations in agility, hunting, search and rescue and musical freestyle – or doggy dancing – throughout the day.

“For people looking to either further their dog’s education or get their dog involved in sports,” Whitney said.

For pet owners looking to pamper their pets, the expo will offer private sessions with a pet photographer and private sessions with an animal communicator who also practices pet Reiki, a Japanese healing technique used to reduce stress.
