POLAND – Sensei Tony Bennett of Bennett Dojo recently promoted 13 karate students. The following accomplishments were recognized:
Gold belt – Ashley Hemenway, Cameron Gagne, Angie Jalbert, Olivia Jalbert, Bear Barkhurst, Sunshine Barkhurst.
First degree brown belt – Ryan Hemenway.
Third degree brown belt – Frank Montana.
Second degree black belt (Nidan) – Carolyn Bennett, Keith Bennett, Lisa Rowe.
Students must demonstrate appropriate skills in kata, kumite, board-breaking and self-defense in order to earn their new karate belts.
Students from Bennett Dojo study the art of kyokushin karate and train at Poland Grange Hall on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
