STORRS, Conn. – Donald Brown ran for 154 yards and a touchdown to lead Connecticut over Rutgers 38-19 Saturday, giving the Huskies an 8-1 record for the first time ever.

Brown, who had lost his starting job to the faster Andre Dixon, came off the bench and had a 33-yard touchdown run in the third quarter and a 70-yard run to set up a fourth-quarter field goal that put the game out of reach. He carried the ball 24 times, 22 in the second half when No. 16 UConn (8-1, 4-0 Big East) controlled of the clock. Dixon rushed 10 times for 35 yards.
