LEWISTON – The November Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce breakfast program will feature Jim Wellehan, president of Lamey Wellehan Shoes, and Andy Meyer, vice president of Safe Handling Inc., will discuss “Becoming ‘Cool Communities’ – Saving Energy & Money.”

The breakfast is sponsored by Maine Bank and Trust and will be held at Martindale Country Club on Beech Hill Road in Auburn at 7:15 a.m. Thursday. To reserve a spot, call 783-2249.

Lewiston is one of 13 Maine Cool Communities taking action to reduce energy costs, build a clean energy economy, increase demand for smart energy solutions, provide materials and solutions, and save taxpayer dollars. These communities have signed on to the U.S. Mayors Climate Protection Agreement and agree to reduce their carbon emissions to 7 percent below 1990 levels by 2012.
