GREENVILLE (AP) – Four environmental activists who were summonsed for trespassing on Plum Creek Timber Co. property claim they were victims of harassment.

Emily Posner of Montville said the confrontation took place last week after she and other members of the Native Forest Network arrived in Greenville to film a documentary on the company’s development plan for the Moosehead Lake Region.

Posner said the four were detained by Plum Creek’s security firm and later were issued summonses by the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Department.

Plum Creek project manager Luke Muzzy said the company has stepped up security in the wake of vandalism incidents two years ago.
