KENTS HILL – The Maranacook Ares Youth Bantam Hockey League team won two of its three games to open the season last week.

Five different players scored a goal to push Maranacook pasr Mid-Coast of Brunswick/Topsham, 5-4.

Dakota Bowie, George Bragdon, Danny Welch, Eric Crowley and Ian Palmer each lit the lamp for Maranacook, while River Mullan tended the net.

Fairfield PAL stymied Maranacook, 7-3, in its next outing. Cameron Grenier scored three goals and Jared Grenier added two goals and two assists for Fairfield. Skyler Caron and Christian Carpenter each contributed a goal and an assist.

Sam Bryant and Dakota Bowie each notched a goal and an assist for Maranacook, while Tony McIver chipped in a goal. Mullan made 15 saves.

Maranacook bounced back Saturday with a 5-3 victory over Lewiston.

Bryant tallied twice in the triumph, with Crowley adding a goal and an assist.

Bowie and Palmer both added a goal. McIver and Tom Pietriski registered assists. Mullan again was the victorious goalie.

Matt Roy scored two goals to lead Lewiston.

Jacob Soucy chalked up the other, with Marissa Zamrock, Tyler Houle and Rudy Pandora notching the assists.

The Maranacook Bantams are coached by Bill Bryant and assistants Rick Palmer and Chuck Bowie.
