LEWISTON – An informational forum for tobacco users will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday – Great American Smokeout day – at Central Maine Medical Center, conference rooms A and B. Refreshments will be available.

There will be information on the latest medications used to treat tobacco dependence, the Maine Tobacco Helpline, free resources from the American Cancer Society and Healthy Androscoggin, upcoming group programs and the tobacco support group.

The event is sponsored by the Maine chapter of the American Cancer Society, Healthy Androscoggin, Central Maine Medical Center and St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

The Great American Smokeout is part of the American Cancer Society Great American Health Challenge, a year-round initiative that encourages Americans to adopt healthy lifestyles to reduce their risk of cancer.
