Unless otherwise noted, the following are to be arraigned on Jan. 8 in Rumford District Court:

• Tristin Dayon, 26, Rumford, violation of a protection from harassment order, 12:45 p.m. Nov. 14 on Waldo Street. She was released on personal recognizance bail.

• George E. Witek, 56, Rumford, Rumford District Court warrant charging failure to appear for trial on a charge of operating after suspension, 11:30 a.m. Nov. 13 in the courthouse on Congress Street. He was released on $200 cash bail. An arraignment date has yet to be set.

• Walter H. Akers, 42, Mexico, operating under the influence (second offense), 9:40 p.m. Nov. 9 on Portland Street. He was released on $1,500 unsecured bail and will be arraigned on Feb. 5 in Rumford District Court.

• David E. Mitchell, 37, Rumford, Androscoggin County warrant charging unpaid fines and fees on charge of operating after suspension, 3:40 p.m. Nov. 9 on Hancock Street. He was released on $100 cash bail. An arraignment date has yet to be set.

Incidents

• Nov. 10, 12:13 p.m. – A Knox Street resident reported that someone burglarized his apartment and stole an estimated $10,000 worth of copper, along with a television set and video-cassette recorder, both valued at $250. The crime happened between Oct. 27 and Nov. 10.

• Nov. 9, 2:31 p.m. – An official at the Rumford Post Office reported that mail carrier William Gates, 35, of South Paris, was bitten by a dog on Hancock Street. The matter was referred to the Rumford animal control officer and an investigative report was started.

Accidents

• Nov. 10, 12:10 p.m. – A 2005 Subaru station wagon being driven west on Route 2 by Mary Learned, 69, of Andover, slowed in traffic and turned left into the Big Apple, striking an east-bound 1994 Chrysler LeBaron driven by Raymond Tripp, 59, of 341 Waldo St., Rumford. Tripp complained of pain, but Learned wasn’t injured. Damage to the Subaru was estimated at $2,900; to the Chrysler, $4,000. No charges were filed.

• Nov. 10, 7:11 a.m. – Denise Benedix, 52, of Rumford, called to file a late report of a property damage accident. Benedix said she struck a deer with her Saturn sport-utility vehicle, year not given, about 2 a.m. on South Rumford Road. Investigating officers could not find the accident scene, but estimated the damage at $2,500.
