WALES – A Litchfield woman was killed Friday afternoon when she lost control of her station wagon and rolled it several times on Route 126.
Police said Elizabeth Paradis, 26, was driving east about 4:30 p.m. and passing a line of cars when she tried to get back into the right lane and lost control on a curve.
Her Subaru Legacy struck the dirt shoulder near Ridge Road and the car flipped several times, according to Maine State Police Trooper Nate Jamo, who was heading the investigation.
Jamo said Paradis was thrown from her vehicle after it flipped near the Roaring Brook Nurseries. She was not wearing a seat belt.
Paradis was alone in the vehicle when she crashed, police said. She was dead when rescue crews found her next to a tree.
Jamo said several people stopped at the scene and later provided investigators with an account of the crash.
The wreck remained under investigation late Friday.
