DIXFIELD – Clinton and Constance Libby of Dixfield were given a surprise 50th wedding anniversary party July 14 at Mountain View Campground in Dixfield. More than 75 friends and relatives were in attendance.

The party was arranged by their five children, Isaac and Shirley Libby, Bruce Libby and his companion, April Chrissikos, Kelly and Larry Skillin of Dixfield, Gerri-Lynn and Marvin Gilbert of Wilton, and James Libby of Bangor.

Decorations were in gold and white with pictures of the couple arranged on each table. A DVD of the couple and their family was played during the party. Refreshments included an anniversary cake topped with a picture of the entire wedding party.

Mr. Libby and the former Constance Watson were married Aug. 11, 1957, at the Wilton Methodist Church. The Rev. Peter Meisner officiated.

The couple has 13 grandchildren, April, August, Bruce, Joshua, Erica, Zachary, Heather, Jason, Eric, Audra, Nathaniel, Caleb and Jennie. They also have four great-grandsons, Kyle, Evan, Alexander and Noah.

Mrs. Libby was a stay-at-home mom who volunteered for many youth groups. Mr. Libby retired from Boise Cascade with 39 years of service.

They are enjoying their retirement years by traveling, camping, gardening, riding their ATV with their friends and spending time with their family.
