LEWISTON – In celebration of National Older Worker Week, TD Banknorth of Lewiston was one of nine Maine employers recently recognized by the Maine Jobs Council as model employers of older workers. Pam Szalajeski, vice president of human resources, accepted the Maine Jobs Council “Silver Collar Employer” award.

The award is given to employers in Maine whose policies and practices match the needs of mature employees, capturing their skills and experience, strong work ethic, flexibility and enthusiasm. Each Silver Collar Employer has a demonstrated commitment to a diverse and vibrant work force and support of its community.

The Maine Jobs Council leads, advises and manages the effort to create work force development in Maine.
