LEWISTON – More than 2,000 students from more than 30 schools in Maine will attend The Pubic Theatre’s acclaimed adaptation of “A Christmas Carol,” said Artistic Director Christopher Schario. Along with its regularly scheduled performances of “A Christmas Carol” for the general public Dec 7, 8, and 9, The Public Theatre offers student matinee performances as part of its educational outreach programming, with tickets at a reduced price of $5.
Quality productions featuring professional Equity actors from New York and New England and post-show discussions involving the actors and director offer students an exceptional artistic experience, Schario said.
Free study guides prepared by Professor Martin Andrucki of Bates College are available in advance of each production in addition to a Maine Learning Results Guide listing the educational objectives met with each production.
Regular performances of “A Christmas Carol” and “A Homespun Holiday” will be staged at 7 p.m. Dec. 7-8 and at 1 and 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9.
