LEWISTON – The Lewiston Jr. Maineiacs Squirt Travel hockey team continued its winning ways in recent action, rolling to a 10-2 victory over Mid-Coast and edging Capital District, 2-1. Lewiston has won four of its last five games.

Reid Pomerleau registered a hat trick along with an assist to power the Jr. Maineiacs past Mid-Coast. Cody Woodward added a pair of goals and an assist. Kyle Morin, Richard Cooper, Mikaela Brown, Luc Dostie and Jacob Charest also got into the scoring act. Ryley Austin, Evan Emerson and Trevor Lachance logged two assists apiece, while Kyle Ullrich picked up another. Kyle Welsh was the winning netminder.

Welsh assumed a starring role in the second victory, keeping Capital out of the net after it jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second period. Dostie struck back with the equalizer six minutes later with an assist from Lachance, and Ullrich cashed in a pass from Morin for the game-winner early in the third stanza.

Lewiston hit the road to Salem, N.H., for the Cornucopia Cup Series over the holiday weekend.
