RUMFORD – The Rumford Lodge of Elks No. 862 and Rumford Parks were honored to have five local boys and girls represent them at the New England Pepsi Punt, Pass & Kick competition, held Oct. 26 in Foxborough, Mass.

In order to reach the New England competition, all five youngsters advanced through local and sectional competition.

Competition was held on the New England Patriots’ practice field. Each participant then was allowed to walk onto the field at Gillette Stadium and throw and kick the ball around for a full hour. All students also received three tickets to the New England-Washington game.

All contestants were presented with a plaque, a Patriots/Pepsi Punt, Pass & Kick jersey, a pair of sweatpants and a hat.

Local award winners were:

Emily Laubauskas – Third place, 8-9 girls.

Tyler Frost – Fifth, 10-11 boys.

Christine Briggs – Fifth, 12-13 girls.

Tia White – Fourth, 14-15 girls.

Ryan Laubauskas – Third, 14-15 boys.
