LEWISTON – Five members of the Twin Cities Swim Team (TCST) of the Auburn-Lewiston YMCA/YWCA turned in strong performances at the recent All-Star Swim Meet in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

TCST coach Tom Manduca, who was also selected head coach for Team Maine, said that the meet pitted the best swimmers of Maine against the best of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

Allison Lewandowski, 14, Ryan Robitaille, 13, Melissa Paione, 13, Samantha Goulette, 12, and Joseph Manduca, 11, earned selection to the team by posting the fastest times in their age groups over the summer.

The competition was held in a short course metered pool, and three of the swimmers – Robitaille (backstroke/medley relay), Goulette (backstroke/medley relay) and Manduca (freestyle/freestyle relay) – were part of state records in their respective age group relays.

The TCST Sea Lions have already won their first dual meet of the season by defeating the Mount Desert YMCA, 712-259, on Nov. 17. The Sea Lions will compete today in Bath against Long Reach Swim Club.
