Kennel club

SABATTUS – The Lewiston-Auburn Kennel Club will hold the annual meeting on Thursday, Dec. 6, at which time the 2008 officers will be installed. This meeting will be held at the Sabattus Town Hall at 7 p.m. and will include a potluck dinner and a report on the club’s 2008 dog show. A Chinese auction will also be held.

The new officers are: president, Arnold Woolf; vice president, Karen Thorne; secretary, Mary Wood; treasurer, Steven Dostie; board, Annette Cox, Denise Blanchette and Dianne Atkins; American Kennel Club delegate, Sue Goldberg.

Lodge meeting

WALES – Webster Lodge 164, AF and AM, will hold a special communication on Thursday, Dec. 6, to confer the Master Mason Degree on two candidates. The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the lodge hall, 322 Centre Road.

Members will have a casserole supper in the dining hall at 6:30 p.m. All members and Master Masons are invited.

Holiday concert

WALES – Oak Hill High School Voices of Color will present a holiday concert at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Wales Presbyterian Church, Route 132. Everyone is welcome. For more information, call Alice at 375-8382 or Marilyn at 375-6604.

SAD workshop

AUBURN – A “Coping with Seasonal Stress Disorder” workshop with Tim Walking Bear Good Blood will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Unitarian Universalist vestry hall, 159 Pleasant St. He will address natural remedies for SAD. Seniors trips

LEWISTON – The Lewiston Senior Citizens still have spaces for people on the following trips:

“Best of Times: Bright Nights/A New England Christmas,” Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 12 and 13, Chicopee, Mass., two shows, singer Jimmy Mazz and the HuKeLau’s Hawaiian Christmas Show; cost, $215 double.

On Thursday, Dec. 20, there will be a trip to Merrill Auditorium for the Portland Symphony Orchestra’s “Magic of Christmas”; cost, $48.

The annual trip to Daytona Beach will be held Feb. 16 to March 2. Cost depends on number of people in the room.

BOWDOIN – The Bowdoin Community Giving Tree tags are available at Bowdoin Central School. The community project provides items for the children of Bowdoin for Christmas. Stop by the school during school hours to select a tag or contact Karen Mayo at 666-3375 for more information.
